A decade or so later, in his early 20s, Wordsworth was overwhelmed in the mountains again, but this time, it was more complex than boyhood fear. As he describes in his autobiographical poem The Prelude, it was in the early hours of the morning, when the moon's light revealed an awe-inspiring view on the slopes of Snowdon.
